The case for a car at a Denver event

Every venue in this city has the same two problems: parking that costs money and time, and an exit where several thousand people leave at once. A private car does not solve traffic. What it solves is everything either side of it.

You are dropped at the door rather than in a structure eight blocks away. Nobody in the group is the designated driver. And afterwards you walk to a car that is already waiting, at a spot you agreed before the show, rather than standing in a surge-priced queue with everyone else.

The price is per vehicle, not per person, so the argument gets stronger with every person you add.

Red Rocks

The one that most needs planning, and we have a full page on it: Red Rocks car service.

The short version. Parking and admission at Red Rocks are free, so the reason to book a car is not the parking fee. It is that vehicle entry to the park closes nightly at 8:30pm or earlier, that the lots fill from the bottom up so late arrivals walk a long way uphill, and that post-show pickup for private vehicles, taxis and rideshare all happens in the Jurassic Lot rather than where you were dropped. Most people find that last one out on the night.

Downtown Denver venues

Ball Arena, Empower Field, Coors Field, the Bellco and Buell theatres, Mission Ballroom, the Fillmore, the Ogden and the Bluebird. Different venues, same pattern: event parking is expensive and slow to leave, and the streets around them are closed or gridlocked for an hour afterwards.

For downtown shows we agree a pickup point slightly away from the immediate venue exit. Walking two blocks to a waiting car is consistently faster than sitting in a vehicle inside the exit crush, and your chauffeur will tell you exactly where to meet before you go in.

Sports, festivals and the rest

Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche and Rockies games, festivals, race days, graduations, gallery openings, holiday parties and prom nights. If it involves a fixed start time, a crowd and a drink, it is work we do routinely.

Corporate hospitality is worth a specific mention. A box at a game or a night at Red Rocks is one of the better client entertainment options in Colorado, and arriving as a group in one vehicle rather than a scattered convoy of rideshares is part of what you are paying for. Round trip or hourly?

Round trip is a flat rate per vehicle, out and back. Right when the plan is simply the event and then home.

Groups

Above six people we run more than one vehicle on the same schedule. It also means the group arrives as a group, which matters more at an event than it does on an airport run.

What to tell us when you book

• The venue and the event start time, so we can work backwards through traffic rather than guessing.
• Pickup address and passenger count.
• Whether you want the car to wait or come back, which decides hourly versus round trip.
• Any stops before or after: dinner, drinks, a second pickup on the way.

Book early for anything sold out. Big shows and playoff games book out the metro fleet, and Friday and Saturday nights in December are the worst of the year for availability.

Frequently asked questions about event transportation

What time will you collect us after a show?

You agree the meeting point and rough time with your chauffeur before you go in, and adjust by text on the night. Because the vehicle is assigned to you rather than dispatched on demand, there is no waiting for a driver to accept.

Is a car service worth it if parking is free, like at Red Rocks?

Often yes, and for reasons unrelated to cost. Vehicle entry to Red Rocks closes at 8:30pm, late arrivals park a long way down the hill, post-show pickup happens in the Jurassic Lot, and nobody in your group has to stay sober. See our full Red Rocks page for the detail.

Can you take a large group to a concert or game?

Yes, in multiple vehicles for bigger parties. Give as much notice as you can for popular events.

Can we make stops before and after the event?

Yes. Book hourly rather than as a round trip and the vehicle stays with you for the whole evening, including dinner beforehand and a bar afterwards, with waiting time inside the rate.

Do you serve venues outside Denver?
